The stainless steel butterfly check valve is also a swing action check valve, but it is a double disc valve that closes under the action of a spring. The bottom-up fluid pushes the valve disc open. The valve has a simple structure and is clamped between two flanges, with a small overall size and light weight.

The stainless steel butterfly check valve has two spring loaded D-shaped discs placed on a rib shaft across the valve through-hole. This structure shortens the distance that the center of gravity of the valve disc moves. Compared to single disc swing check valves of the same size, this structure also reduces the weight of the valve disc by 50%. Due to the use of spring load, this valve responds very quickly to backflow.

 

 

 

 

1. The double disc lightweight structure of stainless steel butterfly check valves makes seat sealing and operation more effective.
2. The long arm spring function of stainless steel butterfly check valves enables the valve disc to open and close without friction, and the spring independently acts to close the valve disc (DN150 and above).
3. The hinge support sleeve of the stainless steel butterfly check valve reduces friction and minimizes water hammer phenomenon when stopped by an independent valve disc (larger diameter).
4. Compared to conventional swing check valves, stainless steel butterfly check valves have a more robust, lighter, smaller, more effective, and cheaper structure. This valve meets the standards of API 594. For most sizes, the structural length of this valve is only 1/4 of that of a conventional valve, and its weight is 15% to 20% of that of a conventional valve. Therefore, it is also cheaper than a swing check valve. It is also easier to install.
5. The stainless steel butterfly check valve also has special structural features, making it a high-performance impact free check valve. These features include cleaning free opening, most valve sizes equipped with independent spring structures, and an independent disc support system. Some of these features are not possessed by check valves. The double disc butterfly check valve can also be designed as a raised ear type, double flange extended valve body.
