Easier Installation in Multiple Situations: The lug type valve has threaded holes in the body, which allow it to be bolted directly to the flanges on both sides of the pipeline. This gives more flexibility during installation and maintenance because it can be installed between two flanges without needing additional external support.
Can Be Removed Without Disrupting the System: In cases of maintenance or replacement, a lug-type valve can be removed and replaced without needing to disassemble the entire pipeline system. The flange connections hold the valve in place, so there's no need to remove or disrupt the adjoining pipeline.

Concentric Lug Butterfly Valve
This type has a disc with the stem placed at the centre, which ensures symmetrical flow characteristics that are ideal for general purpose applications requiring uniform sealing.
Double Offset Lug Butterfly Valve
The positioning of the offset stem slightly off-center from the disc increases its sealing capabilities while lowering friction during operation hence suitable for high pressure and high temperature applications.
